Ive been a big fan of the APOD app for iOS for quite some time, but this newest version is difficult for me to love. The fact that theres no landscape mode (when many pictures are in landscape orientation) is disappointing, and the ads are indeed more intrusive. NASA is publicly funded, they shouldnt be trying to scratch a living off of ad revenue. I miss the simplicity of the previous version and wish I could revert.

Puts in more obtrusive ads, seems to eliminate viewing pictures in landscape mode. Not very pleased with this version.

Great app, but the new version forces you to portrait. Yes, I even paid the few dollars for no advertising. Thought NASA was funded by tax dollars? Give us back the option to go landscape (pleas). Heck, most images are landscape.

Irritating ads, in-app purchases and no landscape mode. A formerly great app is now a scamming ap!

I really enjoyed the previous version of this app. This latest update is not good at all. Who in there right mind would think that not having landscape mode is acceptable for an app that used to have it and contains photos that are formatted in landscape. Please fix this!!!!

Latest update giant step backward. Where is landscape? Very disappointed with app that was a favorite.

This app has gone from great to awful. Wont rotate into landscape mode anymore. I had to pay to get rid of ads. Why do this, it just drives people away. Maybe that is what they want to help cut costs as NASA.

I dont mind the adverts--and the tiny fee to remove them. But landscape mode is pretty important for making good use of available pixels.

Given that phones an tablets have longer screens than wide, it is best to view pictures taken horizontally in landscape mode. Why did the latest version of APOD remove this capability?

Add me to the list. The latest update IS terrible. Lack of landscape is the most obvious blunder. Looking forward to an update FIX!

I used to like this app. Now I have to pay to get rid of the advertisements and, as noted by other reviewers, THERE IS NO LANDSCAPE MODE.

Used to be a great app...now it stinks. What happened to landscape mode? Please get rid of the obnoxious ads.

Great app for viewing current astronomy. But the ads are pretty annoying.

A once beautiful app made ugly with ads.

The latest upgrade has made this formerly beautiful app useless. Every day it now tells you to go to their website on Safari to see the picture. Yes, the ads are annoying, but I would have paid to upgrade if it still worked the way it used to. Now, its ruined.

Problem with landscape is fixed.

Beautiful pictures and informative captions.

To get a picture to show up in landscape mode you have to swivel the iPad to portrait mode and then back to landscape mode and then the pictures shifts to landscape mode.
